What's Happening!

Howdy Lions Club Presidents,

We at Lions Camp at Teresita Pines would like to share with you, and your club members, our good fortune over the past year. As you are aware we strive to be a camp for all children. The spring went well, providing a place for many different religious groups to hold their church retreats and confirmations. The summer was another great time as we hosted the Lions Wilderness Camp for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with over 100 children. Also the MD-4 Youth Exchange, with 60 young adults from all over the world, experienced a wonderful time in the California Mountains along with visiting Universal Studios. We continue to be the home of the Jay-Nolan Community Services organization for their summer camp program for the Autistic and other developmental disabilities. Thanks to this organization we hosted our first blind young man, James. He was 13 years old and reminded me of how all of our trails need lots of work. This has become one of our most important goals to complete. Fall kicked off with another great Open House and Recognition Day. If you missed it please come and join us next September. We were also able to complete a very important commitment from when the Lions took over the camp from the Catholic Daughters. The Chapel Area, along with the Shrine to Saint Therese, was dedicated to the Catholic Daughters. A new statue was purchased by one of the daughters and they enjoyed their first Reunion. Now the groups are enjoying our winter wonderland.

All of us at Lions Camp at Teresita Pines Wish all of you The Best of Holidays and a Great Coming Year
